Brazil: Increase of fruit juices to the European Union

There is no need to wait for the agreement with Mercosur to become effective; exports from Brazil to the EU have already increased.
The Brazilian Association related to the export of Fruit Juices (Citrus BR) has declared that orange exports have, during the second semester of 2019, on the whole risen by 26% compared to the same period of the previous year.
According to the Association, delivery of the products in said period amount to almost 649 thousand tons and during the first six months of ‘picking’ the turnover was US$ 1.104 billion (equivalent to 240 billion Euro), rising therefore by 14% compared to 2018/19.
The principal destination of Brazilian Orange Juice is the European Union, which imported 450 thousand tons of said product between July and December with an increase of 36% compared to the previous year.
