Bulgaria: increase in wine production

In 2018 in Bulgaria, 5.8 million hectolitres of wine were produced by registered producers who always aim to increase wine production with protected geographical indications.
This year, furthermore, Bulgarian wine producers will benefit from two new measures of support: one in favour of improving the competitiveness of producers in creating varieties of high quality wines; the other aims to encourage the modernization of production through new methods of technological management, investments in infrastructure and relative to supply and storage of wines.
Such measures will be applied on the basis of a five-year programme, until 2023, with a total of 133 million euros.
