China: the export of oranges by air made official
The MIPAAFT has made air transport of Sicilian oranges to the Republic of China official.
Over the past months, a Chinese inspection commission visited companies that produce citrus fruits, where it was able to certify the integrity of cold treatment techniques and the phytosanitary quality of the products.
The validation of this scientific technical protocol between Italian and Chinese inspectors represented a nodal passage for the opening for potential exports to a market that today counts one billion and 290 million potential consumers and could represent an incredible growth stimulus for Italian companies. At the moment, it will start with the Moro variety red oranges, particularly pigmented and delicate with respect to travel and between January 27/28th the first two containers will depart.
