France: increase in the sale of Italian fizzy wines
According to data from the IRI (global leader in market info for consumer goods) the success of Italian fizzy wines is on the rise.
Since April 2016, and in the following twelve months, sales passed eight million bottles in hypermarkets and supermarkets, an increase of 22.7% compared to the same period of the previous year,
The increase is owed mainly to Prosecco (+53%) that weighs half of the volumes; sparkling wine also enjoyed good results (+7%), Moscato (+3.6%) and Lambrusco (+2.5%). Whereas Asti suffered a decline (-9.2%)
