Germany: Europe’s first exporter of pork

In 2018 Germany is confirmed Europe’s principal exporter of pork.
From January to July it exported 483.000 tons of the product, roughly 23% of the EU’s total exports of pork, with an increase of 5% over the same period last year.
Spain is in second place with a 22% share of the market, an increase of 9% on the first period in 2017.
Overall, in 2018 the deliveries of third countries enjoyed a slight increase over the same period last year, with a new growth in exports to South Korea and China that is confirmed, like last year, the main importer of European pork.
