USA: the increase of soya exports to the EU

Between July and December, 2018, the imports of soya to the European Union from the United States increased by 112%, according to the European Commission following a joint declaration underlined by the President of the same Commission and the USA.
The European Commission pointed out that the USA is the top supplier of soya to the European Union with 75% of imports, ahead of Brazil, and added that European imports from the United States are also destined to increase following the decision by the same Commission to kick-start the process of authorization for the use of American soya in biofuels.
